I began tossing and turning about 5 this morning when Marcus got out of bed. Dozing off a couple of times before I actually got out of bed about 7. I do that 7 days a week because I have two growing little boys that are ready to start the day with a box of waffles and a protein shake, regardless of how tired Mom is. Read more
When I found out I was pregnant with my oldest son, I remember thinking it was certainly a girl. Someone I could play Barbies with and have tea parties with. Braid and curl her hair and put her in frilly dresses. I basically pictured myself reliving my childhood but as a 20 something-year-old woman.
When my Doctor told me I was having a boy (and there was no doubt about it), I didn’t really know what to think. How would I do playing TMNT and Superheros? While that is an admirable attitude, let’s face it, we all need some “me time”. Without it, we ultimately just end up running ourselves into the ground. Read more
Every time I’m introduced to another Boy Mom I always smile and nod my head as if to say “Say no more, I get it.” Then there are usually a few moments of silence where we exchange thoughts in our head like, “I haven’t sat down on a pee covered toilet seat today! Hey, you neither? WINNING!”. Boy moms are kindred spirits. We are all dealing with the same grossness, hunger, and dirt that the next one is dealing with or has dealt with at some point, but don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I was handcrafted by God to be a Boy Mom and I wear the label proudly! Read more
